Skill is what painters have used for centuries, methods grounded in very simple, basic science, understanding light and shadows, form and skillful composition.

I believe “luck” to an artist, is finding the right teacher, one that moves you forward by making you curious and engaged in seeing how to solve problems, experiment and take risks.

A good teacher should teach you to:

  1. Be curious
  2. Try new ideas
  3. Make mistakes
  4. Help you find “your” voice
  5. Strive to always improve

Be curious, engaged and energized to paint everything and anything you see! If you invest the time, you’ll become a very good painter.
