I'll be conducting two 2-day Plein Air Painting Workshops in San Diego this summer:
July 15-16 at Sunset Cliffs (Point Loma) in San Diego
and August 5-6 in North County/Carlsbad.
We'll cover the essentials, strong composition, mixing color, seeing values, and understanding edges. If you've taken my studio class, this is a logical next step to gaining confidence painting outdoors. A gentle (yet positive) critique each day is a useful way to learn from each other's successes and weaknesses. Both oil and acrylic painters are welcome, previous painting experience is recommended.
You'll need a basic plein air set-up: easel, paint box/pochade, paint, brushes and solvent container. Additional equipment list (hat, water, sunscreen etc) will be forwarded after registration. Saturday and Sunday, 9am-3pm with a short break for lunch (provided).
Class is limited to eight students, (first come basis) 50% deposit will reserve your spot, Class fee: $250 (before July 4th), $275 (after July 4th). Cash or personal check only.
To register: firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 619-224-2654 or 619-794-9044.
Call if you have questions...
"A note to let you know that I've just loved your class. I've appreciated your work for a really long time- and it's been my good fortune to learn how you think and go about your paintings. I've learned so much - I was super intimidated to start - not having painted in 25 years. It was fun and informative to watch others grow as well. Thank you so very much for sharing what you know -- and especially the limited pallette. I was an art teacher for many years....so I have a appreciation for a really good one." -D. Carnick, San Diego
