If you enjoy Jeff’s work, we know you’ll be interested in this beautiful new book, “Painting California: Seascapes and Beach Towns” (here’s a link). One of his paintings “A Few Minor Adjustments” graces the back cover, and several more are featured inside. The first 1/3 of the book is written by Jean Stern, director of the Irvine Museum and offers wonderful insights to the history of early California painters. Molly Siple edited the remaining portion of the book, sharing her knowledge of the current side of contemporary painters from the Golden State. The paintings are exceptional, but the information in the book is informative to anyone interested in the rich history that is California through an artist’s eyes. I’m very proud to be a part of this publication.
“Luminous, gorgeously realized landscape paintings by members of the California Art Club over the past 100 years, this volume showcases 200 works by California Art Club artists who have focused on the evocative seascapes, charming seaside towns, and beach communities from San Diego to San Francisco, demonstrating a breathtaking range of natural settings suffused with atmosphere, drama, and light. Since the dawn of the twentieth century, California has been home to artists from all over America and Europe who aspired to depict the state’s compelling natural landscapes.”
